A glass of water before a meal off the pounds

A glass of water before a meal off the pounds

Glasses of water before meals reduces appetite

Winter months are traditionally the most critical part of the year when most of us gain weight a few pounds thanks to a variety of holidays, celebrations, lack of activity ... However, there are some small things you can do to prevent yourself and visit the above mentioned pounds. One of these resources is a glass of water before meals.

In fact, long been the people who are on a diet are encouraged to pre-meal drink a glass of water because it will thus reduce appetite and in the stomach will be less room for food. To correct this trick was confirmed by the recent study made in the United States in which the researchers focused on finding answers to two questions:

Whether this "system" at all works
if you work for whom and how much does.

And so, according to a study published in the journal "Obesity" experts from Virginia Teha came up with some interesting results. Specifically, they followed a group of older people (55 years and older) that are "dumped" on the low calorie diet for 3 months.

Now that the story was interesting, one group before meals consumed water before each meal (about two cups) in the second group subjects drank the water when they were thirsty (in each case before meals). After three months, members of the "watery" group lost an average of slightly more than 7 pounds, while members of the "dry" failed to reach a deficit of 5 pounds ... The difference of 2 kilograms looks small, but it is annually eight pounds and all what should be done is to drink water before meals!

A study published in 2008 showed a similar effect as the above studies with these scientists are accurately measured and found that obese subjects who consume water before meals entries 13 percent fewer calories! Great, is not it !? The third study, conducted in 2007 and casts a discreet veil of mystery to all discovery: namely, in that study, the researchers have come up with some interesting results - drinking water 30 minutes before a meal causes reduced calorie intake and hunger but only in older patients - those over 35 years!

The younger of these magical figures are not exaggerated the benefits of the method. Nobody understands why this is so, although it is speculated with the fact that older adults more obesity, and to have an increased risk of adding extra kilos but none of that has not yet been confirmed but is awaiting a new study.

Otherwise, generally speaking, the average person with a Western lifestyle gain about a pound just in the months of December and January on an annual basis to be one to two pounds each year. Little tricks that this permanently growing smaller - like a glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - can give excellent results in the long run.

Therefore, carefully on holidays and celebrations - drink water, make sure the diet and if you overdo it - well ... - increase physical activity.
